University of Port Harcourt Mastercard Scholarship 2026 (TAGDev 2.0) – Fully Funded
Applications are now open for the University of Port Harcourt Mastercard Scholarship 2026 under the TAGDev 2.0 programme. This is a fully funded scholarship for undergraduate and master’s studies, designed to support academically strong but financially disadvantaged students in Nigeria.
The scholarship is part of the Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) programme.

ToggleIt is implemented by the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation and selected African universities.
The programme focuses on building capacity in agriculture, agribusiness, and food systems while empowering young Africans.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian or a refugee residing in Nigeria
- Be from economically disadvantaged or marginalized communities
- Be under 25 years (undergraduate) or under 30 years (master’s)
- Show academic excellence and leadership potential
- Demonstrate interest in agriculture and agribusiness
- Be committed to community development

- Refugees and internally displaced persons may have slightly higher age limits

Undergraduate Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have at least five O-Level credits including English, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology/Agricultural Science
- Pass UTME with relevant subjects
- Choose University of Port Harcourt as first choice
- Pass the university’s post-UTME screening
Postgraduate Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum of Second Class Honours degree
- Possess credits in English and Mathematics
- Meet admission requirements of the University of Port Harcourt

- Birth certificate or age declaration
- Valid identification
- NYSC discharge certificate (for postgraduate applicants)
