TVET Training Centre Application 2026: NBTE Accreditation Requirements & How to Apply Earn ₦45,000 FG Skills Programme
Training centres intending to participate in the Federal Government’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme for 2026 are required to obtain accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
NBTE accreditation is mandatory for all institutions and individuals seeking to operate as approved TVET trainers under the programme. The accreditation requirements differ based on the category of training provider.
Below are the official NBTE requirements for registration and accreditation.
NBTE Requirements for Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)
Training centres applying as Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs) must meet the following conditions:

Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)

Adoption and use of National Skills Qualification (NSQ)-based curricula
-
A minimum of one qualified instructor per trade, maintaining a ratio of one instructor to 40 students
-
At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade and one certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the centre

Where unavailable, centres may engage part-time QAA and IQAM

NBTE Requirements for Skill Training Centres (STCs)
Centres seeking accreditation as Skill Training Centres (STCs) must satisfy the following requirements:

Proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)

Adoption and use of NSQ-based curricula
-
A minimum of one qualified or experienced senior artisan/craftsperson or instructor per programme, with at least NSQ Level 3 certification

At least one Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade and one certified Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the centre
-
Part-time engagement is permitted where full-time staff are unavailable

Adequate technical and support staff for each workshop

Provision of essential physical facilities, including:

Workshops, studios, or field training areas

NBTE Requirements for Mastercraft Persons (MCPs)
Individuals applying as Mastercraft Persons (MCPs) must meet the following criteria:

Proof of CAC registration or National Identification Number (NIN)

Adoption and use of NSQ-based curricula

A minimum of one qualified or experienced senior artisan/craftsperson per programme, with at least NSQ Level 3 certification

Maintenance of a trainee ratio of one qualified junior artisan/craftsperson to five trainees
