Nigeria Police Recruitment portal: The Police Service Commission, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has officially announced the commencement of recruitment for fifty thousand (50,000) Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force. This massive recruitment exercise follows a Presidential directive by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at strengthening community policing, enhancing internal security, and expanding the manpower base of the Nigeria Police Force.
Is Nigeria Police Recruitment Form Out?
Yes. The Police Service Commission has approved and announced the opening of the recruitment portal for applications from eligible Nigerians. The Police Service Commission portal will be opened on Monday, 15th December 2025, and applications will close Sunday, 25th January 2026.
What Type of Recruitment Is This?
Categories of Nigeria Police Recruitment
The recruitment is divided into two main categories:
Category A: General Duty Recruits
Position: Police Constables
General Duty recruits perform regular policing duties across various units and departments of the Nigeria Police Force.
Category B: Specialist Recruits

Requirements to Apply for Nigeria Police Recruitment 2025
Educational Qualifications
General Duty Applicants:
- Holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents
- Minimum of five (5) credits (including English Language and Mathematics)
- Results obtained in not more than two sittings
Specialist Applicants:
- Holders of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or their equivalents
- Minimum of four (4) credits (including English Language and Mathematics)
- Results obtained in not more than two sittings
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in relevant fields/areas
- Trade Tests certificates in relevant fields/areas required
Eligibility Criteria for Nigeria Police Recruitment
All applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Citizenship: Must be a Nigerian Citizen by birth
2. Physical and Mental Fitness: Must be physically and mentally fit
3. Financial Status: Must be free from financial embarrassment
4. Character: Must be of good character
5. Criminal Record: Must not have been convicted of any criminal offense(s)
6. Character References: Must present two (2) character referees
7. Age Requirements:
- General Duty Applicants: Between 18 to 25 years
- Specialist Applicants: Not more than 28 years
8. Pregnancy Status: Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of entry and throughout the duration of training (if successful)
9. Physical Conditions: Applicants must be free from conditions such as:
- Defective eyesight
- Knock knees
- Bow legs
- Bent arms
- Deformed arms/legs
- Flat foot
- Amputation of any part of the body
10. Height Requirements (General Duty Only):
- Males: Not less than 1.67m (5 feet 6 inches)
- Females: Not less than 1.64m (5 feet 4 inches)
11. Chest Measurement (General Duty Males Only): Expanded chest measurement must not be less than 86cm (34 inches)

Frequently Asked Questions About Nigeria Police Recruitment
Can I apply if I obtained my O’Level in three sittings?
No. Only candidates who obtained the required credits in not more than two sittings are eligible.
Do Specialists need to meet height requirements?
No. The height requirement of 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female) applies only to General Duty applicants.
Is the application free?
Yes. The entire recruitment process is completely free. Do not pay anyone for application, processing, or guaranteed employment.
What is the age limit for Specialists?
Specialists must be between 18 and 28 years old, which is three years higher than the General Duty age limit.
Can I apply for both General Duty and Specialists?
This will be clarified on the portal. Generally, you should apply for the cadre that matches your qualifications and experience.
When will the portal be activated?
The portal will be activated on Monday, 15th December 2025. Do not attempt to access it before this date.
