About Sahara Power Technical & Innovation Academy

The Sahara Power Technical & Innovation Academy is part of Sahara Power Group (SPG), the largest privately owned vertically integrated power company in Sub-Saharan Africa. The group plans to expand its generation capacity to over 5,000 MW by 2026.

The Graduate Engineering Programme is designed to equip participants with:

  • Daily exposure to real assets, control systems, and operational infrastructure

  • Technical tasks that link academic knowledge to practical applications

Participants gain hands-on experience at Sahara Power Group subsidiaries including Egbin Power Plc, FIPL, Afam, Eleme, Trans Amadi, and Omoku.

1. Ikorodu, Lagos

  • Commercial and innovation hub

  • Trainees engage with complex power infrastructure and high-capacity equipment

2. Port Harcourt, Rivers State

  • Trainees work on core generation assets and infrastructure supporting the national grid

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a core engineering field

  • 0–1 year of related work experience

  • Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme on or before December 2025

  • Passion for a long-term career in energy and electricity supply
