National MSME Awards 2026: Apply for N1 Billion Grant Opportunity in Nigeria
The Federal Government of Nigeria has opened applications for the 2026 National MSME Awards, a major initiative designed to support and grow small businesses across the country.
Over N1 billion in grants will be awarded to outstanding Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with strong growth potential.
About the National MSME Awards 2026
The National MSME Awards is part of the government’s effort to promote entrepreneurship, create jobs, and strengthen the Nigerian economy.
The programme recognizes and supports high-performing businesses across different sectors, helping them scale operations and increase their impact.
The announcement was made in Abuja by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, highlighting the government’s commitment to empowering small businesses.
Award Categories
The 2026 edition will feature about 12 award categories across key sectors, including:
- Manufacturing
- Agriculture
- Textiles
- Creative industries
- Innovation
- Beauty and wellness
Applicants are expected to select the category that best fits their business during registration.

Winners of the MSME Awards will receive:
- Access to over N1 billion in grant funding

The grand finale will take place on June 27, 2026, in celebration of World MSME Day.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the MSME Awards 2026, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Own a registered business in Nigeria
- Provide accurate personal and business information
- Demonstrate business impact and growth potential
Required Business Details
Applicants will be required to provide:
- Full name
- Business name
- Business location
- Gender
- Date of birth
Compulsory Business Requirements
- Active CAC registration
- Valid Tax Identification Number (TIN)
Additional Supporting Documents
The following may strengthen your application:
- Tax clearance certificate
- SON certification (MANCAP or Product Identification Scheme)
- NAFDAC product registration
- SMEDAN registration
- NEPC certification
- ITF certification
Video Requirement
Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a clear two-minute video explaining:
- Their business operations
- Production process
- Value chain
- Overall business impact
