AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria 2026: Apply for $40,000 Agritech Innovation Prize
Applications are now open for the AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria 2026, a major opportunity for young Nigerian agritech innovators building solutions that can transform agriculture.
The challenge is designed to identify and support youth-led agritech businesses that are using technology and innovation to solve real problems faced by smallholder farmers across Nigeria.
Selected innovators will receive mentorship, technical support, networking opportunities, and a share of $40,000 in prize funding.
About the AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria
The AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria is an enterprise development programme initiated by Heifer International and implemented by Wennovation Hub.
The programme focuses on supporting early-stage and growth-stage agritech startups with innovative solutions that improve agricultural productivity, strengthen farmer incomes, and increase access to agricultural information.
The goal is to help promising startups grow, scale their impact, and contribute to improving Nigeria’s food system.

A total of $40,000 will be awarded to the top three agritech startups.

First Runner-Up: $12,000

Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be between 18 and 35 years old by the application deadline

Must be a Nigerian citizen with a valid identification document

Must be the founder or co-founder of the agritech enterprise

Must play an active leadership role in the business

Must have an innovative solution focused on agriculture

Must be able to provide financial statements for the venture

Must have no criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, or financial misconduct

Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other stakeholders
Business Requirements
The agritech business must also meet the following conditions:

The company must be registered with the appropriate government agency in Nigeria

The solution must have the potential to scale and impact many smallholder farmers

The innovation must address at least one of the following areas:

Smallholder farmer productivity

Farmer income improvement

Labour efficiency in farming operations

Agricultural resilience

Access to agricultural information

The solution must be technologically driven with a strong competitive advantage

The business should have the potential for job creation and poverty reduction

The innovation should align with national development policies and global goals such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The selection process will take place in several stages.

Applications will first be reviewed to identify the top 10 agritech innovators.

From this group, five finalists will be selected to receive mentorship and support.

The finalists will pitch their solutions, and the top three winners will receive the cash prizes during the final awards ceremony.
